TMX Ernie Doll

Attention TMX Elmo fans: your doll needs a friend. Enter TMX Ernie, arguably one of the five most recognized characters from Sesame Street, the longest-running and most popular children's show in the United States. Tickle me Elmo has been around for ten years, and there
have been no playmates of comparable, giggly goodwill to keep him company – until now!

Tickle Me Elmo was, and is, a manufacturing phenomenon in the toy industry, pleasing parents and kids with a limited, if undeniably hilarious, range of capabilities. This year, toy industry executives considered the prototypes of these Sesame Street characters so valuable that they allowed only a handful of reviewers to see them before their official release date.

The real mystery, however, is why it took so long for Sesame Street's producers to realize that character diversity and consumer choice are good for business. Maybe there are even more fans of the guy with the football-shaped head or even of the cookie-crunching mammoth out there than there are of the screeching red fuzz ball (no offense, die-hard Elmo fans). That's why TMX Ernie is so much fun.

The TMX Ernie Doll reacts when someone tickles him. First, he falls backwards onto his back, shouting "Oh my gosh!" and quickly descending into his typical peals of quack-like giggling. He slaps the ground with his hand and clicks his feet together as if he can't stop, and he vibrates like this in a full circle. Second, the laughing grows more intense, and Ernie says, "Oh, I think I'm getting dizzy!" Of course, Ernie doesn't want to stop chuckling any more than you want him to. Third, Ernie yells out something akin to "Help me, rubber ducky!" interspersed with more giggles. Finally, Ernie rocks forward, using his weight to propel himself into a sitting position and past it to a stand. Now back to the default position, Ernie exclaims, "Phew! Hey, thanks! That really cheered me up." He's grateful for all the attention any child is ready to give him.

Like TMX Elmo and TMX Cookie Monster, TMX Ernie is about 14 inches tall and comes with six AA batteries that you will need to replace with sets of six more batteries in short order if Ernie is on a lot. Batteries that are included with toys often have a short shelf life. Like Elmo and Cookie Monster, Ernie has three ticklish spots: with
Elmo, they are his chin, his belly, and the top of one of his feet. The TMX dolls are targeted primarily at pre-schoolers and toddlers, although toddlers may be less frightened of the moving dolls than babies may be. Many parents get more of a kick out of the TMX Ernie Doll than their children, pushing his funny bone to make him laugh and giggle in that signature quack at odd moments and startling their friends and family! There's nothing like covering up an awkward silence when you want to laugh at someone's dumb comment and having an animated doll do it for you.

Whether you're buying a TMX Ernie for your kid or secretly for yourself, Ernie will forgive you, and your family will, too. The only unforgivable act you could commit is to delay buying one until they've sold out. Don't make that mistake, especially not during the holidays when most families will be out searching for the same popular toys!
