Hannah Montana Doll
Ever since Disney launched its
incredibly popular hit show "Hannah Montana," girls across the
United States and beyond have been hooked on the lyrics, laughter
and adventures of its teenage star. She's a girl who lives a secret
double life in the midst of the chaos that is adolescence. During
the day, she's Miley Stewart, an ordinary schoolgirl, but once the
spotlight hits her, she turns into Hannah Montana, the young and
upcoming rock superstar. Miley Cyrus, the daughter of country
one-hit wonder Billy Ray Cyrus, is the actress who plays Miley
Stewart, a.k.a. Hannah Montana. The Hannah Montana tour features
songs and routines from the TV show, and tickets for it have sold
out in minutes and at record speeds across the country, making it
the most popular music event in America.
The Hannah Montana doll is meant to
bring that experience to life in your home. The Hannah doll is fully
pose-able and has long, blonde hair that kids can brush and style.
She comes with a handheld microphone so that she can sing along with
her "fans" and a brush for styling. That's it for the accessories;
the set falls a bit short in that department. She could have some
school books and a backpack for Miley's persona, and since Hannah
Montana is a musical character, it's surprising that every doll
variation doesn't come with a CD or DVD, even the smaller sets. On
the other hand, the fact that the doll comes with two complete
outfits for both the Miley and the Hannah personas.
The casual ensemble for Miley Stewart
features a silky polyester lavender shirt with rouching down the
front and triangular overlapping straps at the top. Over this, she
wears a royal purple short jacket with black decorative buttons
running down one side. Her belt has swirls of gold and silver on a
dark background, and she wears it over a dark pair of slim denims
and brown cowboy boots.
For her gig ensemble as Hannah Montana,
the look is more flattering: suddenly, she's not the demure teenager
trying to fit in; she's ready to hit the stage in a two-piece
sleeveless dress outfit. The dress has a scoop-neck and is white
with a rose-colored pattern, a fitted waist, a triangle hip skirt,
and a black polka-dot belt. A pair of black pants and knee-high
black boots complete the look. The outfits are chic and in touch
with 2007 fashion trends without being too adult.
An added bonus is that the doll is
standard size, meaning that Barbie and MyScene outfits will usually
fit her. Not all of their clothes are interchangeable, but kids
should be able to accessorize the Hannah Montana doll using toys
from other brands. Also, the Hannah Montana doll has other sets and
scenes on sale to add to playtime, including a concert stage for
doing what Hannah does best – perform. For the price, it's a quality
set, especially considering that the doll will work well with other
doll sets.
Remember, the
sold-out musical adventure concert, "Hannah Montana / Miley Stewart:
The Best of Both Worlds," will run throughout the holidays and into
next year, so there's no telling how long this doll will be
available in the rush of the season's frantic shopping sprees. In
order to have a Hannah Montana doll for winter break (and maybe even
a concert trip), it's wiser to order now and beat the rush.
